Type: Shou Pu-erh

Origin: Yiwu mountains, Yunnan Province, China

Year: 2014

This is a seven-seed new year pu-erh cake from the Yiwu mountains in Yunnan. The round cake is moderately, fermented and steamed at high temperature, then carefully pressed into the cake. Pu-erhs quality tend to increase with age and this one has been carefully aged since 2014.  It has a moderate “fishy” pu-erh smell, indicating it’s quality. It is a smooth, good quality pu-erh. A traditional double or triple-rinse of the pu-erh is recommended! Like sophisticated wines or scotches, pu-erh lovers will often look for the year and region a pu-erh is from. Pu-erh cakes are treasured by tea aficionados!

Brewing Instructions:

Temp:  205 F / 96 C

Steeping Time: 3 - 4 minutes, makes numerous infusions when re-steeped

(We recommend a quick rinse of hot water before steeping for an even better cup of tea. Traditional method: rinse tea with hot water 2 – 3 times before steeping)

Measure: 1 teaspoon per cup

(Break or chip off a few small pieces until you have desired amount)
