We offer white tea from Fujian province. The tea garden for our organic White Peony is located in Nanping city, close to Wuyi Mountain. Wuyi Mountain is well known for its ideal conditions for growing superlative quality tea plants in the region. This is also near the historical Yuan Dynasty tea garden in the same region.

White tea is specifically special to Fujian province, having limited production in the area. White tea is thought to have a history of about 200 years, being first produced during the Song dynasty. It was a favorite of the Song emperor. The silvery-white buds are from fine white hairs that grow on the tea, serving to protect the growing leaves from bugs and harsh weather conditions. White teas are only very lightly fermented; the delicate leaves require very special plucking and production.
