Golden Monkey, also known as Pangyang Congou, evolved from a Portuguese black tea that was first made to be exported to Europe. The tea comes from Tanyang village in Fujian, China and has been the most famous tea in the region for the past 150 years. Golden Monkey is made from a hairy or downy varietal and gets its name from its golden tippy leaf or from the golden color of its liquor. Known for its smooth earthiness with little-to-no astringency, Golden Monkey provides a delicious, enlivening return to serenity.
